Your friends

From here you can manage your friends on deCODEme, search for new friends and send out invitations. You can also accept and reject new friend requests.

When you have become someone’s friend on deCODEme you can view information about that person that they have chosen to make visible. If you and your friend have ancestry data you can compare your genome and check if you are related. No risk data or SNP information is shared.

You also have the option of becoming a 'public friend'. This means you will become a friend to all other users (they will however not be your friend). Other users will be able to compare their genome to yours and you will be visible to everyone in the Map of Kinship. To do this select the option in the origins and ancestry section of your settings.

Once we collect enough users who cluster together in the Map of Kinship we may ask if you wish to become a new ancestry reference individual, thus helping to improve our analysis.
